Fat Cattle Report
Good morning this is Matt Weber with the weekly market report for the second week of November 2019. Numbers yarded this week included -
3885 cattle
9100 lambs and
13250 mutton
Into the cattle pens firstly were the market in general was firm to 10 cents cheaper for most grades. C3 yearling steers to the butchers made from 269 to 300 cents with the heifer portion making from 258 to 288 cents. Feeder steers were up to 20 cents cheaper with most sales making between 259 to 309 cents. Young cattle to the restockers were 15 to 20 cents dearer with most young steers making between 196 to 315 cents and the heifers between 188 and 281 cents.
There was very few heavy steers and bullocks on offer this week but sales made between 280 to 297 cents. Heavy D4 cows were up to 5 cents cheaper with most sales making between 240 and 275 cents. Restocker cows finished the week 5 cents dearer with most sales making between 178 to 228 cents. Best heavy bull sold to a top of 310 cents.
Carter Lindsay and Weber sold the following cattle for their clients-
Out of the Geurie district firstly and for Elwyn and Rachel Perry of “Allandale”, who sold young well bred Angus steers to the restockers for 311 cents, they weighed 225kg to return $700.
Peter and Kylie Squires of “Buckhobble” sold heavy Angus cows for 254 cents they weighed 674kg and came back at $1713.
Mark and Trudy Altus of “Wyndorah” at Coonamble, sold heavy Angus cross cows for 260 cents they weighed 628kg to return $1633.
And for Noel and Lynette Dunn of “Bundong Station” at Coolabah, who sold heavy Hereford cross heifers for 288 cents they weighed 540kg and came back at $1556.

Into the lamb pens now were the market in general was $10 to $15 cheaper on last week’s sales. There was a very mixed quality yarding of lambs on offer this week.
Light suckers made from $77 to $139
Medium weight suckers made from $93 to $149
Heavy suckers made from $170 to $205
Light crossbred lambs made from $80 to $122
Medium weight crossbred lambs made from $124 to $174
Heavy crossbred lambs made from $160 to $201
Light Merino lambs made from $65 to $115
Medium weight Merino lambs made from $124 to $140
Heavy Merino lambs made from $138 to $178
Carter Lindsay and Weber sold the following lambs for their clients-
The Johnston Family of “Komoora” at Geurie, sold heavy 2nd cross suckers in 3 score condition for $171.
Dave and Andrea Williams of “Albion Hills” at Wongarbon sold heavy Dorper lambs in 3 score condition for $165.
And for The Broughton Family of “Jamea” at Trangie sold heavy Merino lambs in 3 score condition with a 1 inch skin for $160.
Across to the mutton pens now were the market in general was firm to $3 cheaper. There was a good quality yarding of mutton penned this week. All regular buyers were in attendance.

Carter Lindsay and Weber sold the following mutton for their clients-
Out of the Cobar district for David and Lisa Betts of “Mirrabooka”, who sold heavy Merino wethers in 3 score condition with a 1 inch skin for$170.
And for Barry and Dolly Betts of “The Peak Station”, who sold medium weight Merino wethers in 3 score condition with a ½ inch skin for $148.
