Good afternoon this is Matt Weber with the weekly livestock market report from the Troy saleyards for the second week of June. There was only a prime cattle sale held this week due to Monday being a public holiday.
1880 cattle were penned this week.
The yarding this week was made up a large number of weaners in store condition. Well finished cattle met a stronger market with most grades being 5 to 15 cents dearer. C3 yearling steers to the butchers sold to a top of 420 cents with the heifer portion making from 368 to 398 cents. Feeder steers remained fully firm making between 384 to 426 cents while feeder heifers sold to a top of 408 cents.
Heavy steers and bullocks were up to 10 cents dearer making from 345 to 370 cents with a pen of very well finished young bullocks selling to a top of 380 cents. Heavy heifers made from 330 to 367 cents. Light and medium weight cows made from 258 to 292 cents to finish the week 15 cents dearer.
Restocker cows sold to a top of 311 cents. Heavy well finished cows made from 291 to 316 cents. Best heavy bull sold to a top of 328 cents.
Carter Lindsay and Weber sold the following cattle for their clients-
The O’Neill Family of “Nellady” at Trangie, sold Hereford steers to the feedlotters for 408 cents they weighed 382kg and came back at $1562.
John and Mary Burley of “Woodlands Station” at Nyngan, sold Angus heifers to the restockers for 380 cents they weighed 240kg to return $912
And for The Fisher Family of “Kilberoo” at Yantabulla, who sold heavy D4 Angus cross cows for a sale topping 316 cents, they weighed 565kg to come back at $1786. On the same load aged Brahman cross bullocks made 356 cents they weighed 661kg or $2356.
