Fat Cattle Report 

Good morning, this is Shaun McHugh, taking a look at the weekly livestock markets out of Dubbo for the 1st week of September.

Because of a positive COVID 19 case detected at the Dubbo Saleyards, Thursday’s cattle market has been temporarily moved to Saturday so as this report is being compiled we have no market information to give, only to say that sales will be as per normal next week and going forward.

Fat Sheep & Lamb Report 

Into the lamb pens now where 19000 were penned in what was a firm to dearer market.
Good lines of new season lambs and large numbers of trade weights were on offer as well as Merino lambs.  Extra heavy weights were limited as were restocker lambs.

Trade weight new season lambs gained $20 to sell from $185 - $267 or over $10 per kilogram dressed weight.  Merino lambs were up to $16 dearer as the trade weights sold from $180 - $248 and the heavy weights sold from $254 - $280.  Trade weight old lambs lifted $10 to range from $210 - $270, while the heavy weights picked up $11 from last week to sell from $265 - $310.  Extra heavyweights remained firm and sold from $290 - $346. Restockers were limited in numbers and sold from $129 - $170 and the best heavy hoggets reached a top of $257.

Carter Lindsay & Weber sold the following lambs for their clients -

Firstly for the Whillock Family of “Maxland” at Geurie, who sold fresh 2nd cross suckers to the supermarket orders for $256.
The Walker Family of “Gillendoon” at Warren, sold Merino lambs in a 3 score condition with an inch skin for $246.

To Tottenham now for The Cook Family of “Glenidol”, who sold heavy Merino wether lambs in a 3/4 score condition for $250.

The Plummer Family of “Trigoona”, sold Merino wether lambs in a 3 score condition for $225.

Warwick & Margaret Herbert of “Lynjoy“ at Nyngan, sold crossbred new season lambs in a 3 score condition, unshorn for $180.

To Hermidale now for The Dewhurst family of “Elmsley”, who sold extra heavy 1st cross White Suffolk lambs in a 4 score condition, with a 2 inch skin for $332.

Jon and Helen Matchett of “Budgery”, sold crossbred sucker lambs in a 3 score condition, with an inch skin for $250.

And lastly for Ben & Liarne Mannix of “Gumbooka” at Bourke, who sold extra heavy Dorper lambs in a 4 score condition for $290

Into the mutton pens now, where there was some outstanding lines penned with only limited numbers of plainer sheep yarded in a dearer market.

Light ewes sold from $104 - $130
Medium weight ewes sold from $146 - $188
Heavy weight ewes sold from $190 - $237

Light wethers sold from $111 - $125
Medium weight wethers sold from $140 - $180
Heavy weight wethers sold from $190 - $255

Just a quick quote this week for The Bryan Family of “Newe Park” at Warren, who sold Merino ewes in a 3 score condition, with an inch skin for $201.
